"The Old Bear and the Sea"
16" x 16" Pastel
SOLD

I spent a great deal of time with this particular Coastal Brown Bear, aka Grizzly Bear, on a recent trip to the Katmai Peninsula of Alaska.

So full of character, and the tales of a life in the wild with his many scars and his noticeably missing left ear, that we nicknamed him Vincent….after Van Gogh :)

Protected from humans on one side by the Halo Glacier and on the other by the waters of the Shelikof Strait, these bears didn't seem the least bit concerned to let us follow them around for 4 days! One of the best trips ever.
