"Safety in Numbers"
9x12" Pastel

I love to paint zebras, something about the abstract qualities and geometric shapes. The title for this piece comes from the simple fact that those same elements that make me love to paint them also keep them safe. When zebras huddle close together like this, whether standing or running, their stripes tend to blur together making it extremely difficult for predators to pull one out of the herd. To go into a herd would end in serious injury or death for the predator.
